I wonder if anyone is going to be honest about this. When it comes to sex, people lie--to others and to themselves. There are lots of reasons that people cheat on a spouse, however. Some want to get caught to patch up a marriage, others to supplement a marriage, others to get out of a marriage. Some seek attention. I find it extremely painful to watch a partner flirt with someone else. To me, it’s tasteless. But I must say: men and women are not always aware of when they are flirting. In fact, men more regularly misinterpret a feminine gesture, smile, pose or remark—reading into it signs in sexual or romantic interest where there are none. Men misinterpret women’s actions as flirtatious, scientists believe, because women are the custodians of the egg.Read more
