DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2015 ACIM Conference\, the largest conference devoted to bringing together teachers and students of A Course in Miracles from all over the country\, to be held for the first time here in NYC April 17 – 19\, 2015 at the Hotel Pennsylvania. CRS founder Yasuko Kasaki will be lecturing along with 20+ other distinguished teachers. As members of the host city ACIM community\, let’s give them a Big Apple Welcome!\n“This large conference in mid-town Manhattan is a celebration of the maturity of the A Course In Miracles movement. It is our ‘coming of age’ gathering and party. We are here in ‘America’s downtown’ declaring our message of healing\, loudly\, and profoundly. The world will not be the same afterwards. Remember\, we came for the salvation of the world. Don’t miss it!”\n— Rev. Tony Ponticello\, conference organizer\, Community Miracles Center\, San Francisco\nThis year\, each of the Conference speakers will be responding to\, in his or her own\, personal way\, the Course passage: \n“The holiest of all the spots on earth is where an ancient hatred has become A PRESENT LOVE.” (OrEd.Tx.26.81) \nAll the presenters will be available throughout the conference to talk to and interact with. Some of the greatest “teachings” takes place in the hallways\, at the information tables\, and especially at the lunch and dinner tables. Speaking of meals\, conference enrollment includes 4 AMAZING\, full buffet\, all you can eat meals! There will be vegan entree options for people who need them.\nConference registration is only $449 with full payment by July 31\, 2014. This is a 36% savings ($250) from the “At the Door” price of $699. SUMMARY:Open Rehearsal: ARAGOSTA (Lobster) by ASMED Balletto di Sardegna — 7/23/14
DESCRIPTION:CRS presents an intimate meet and greet and free look at a rehearsal of the NYC premiere of ARAGOSTA (Lobster)\, choreographed by London-based choreographer Moreno Solinas for the Italian dance company ASMED Balletto di Sardegna. The work will be performed by three dancers\, Francesca Assiero Brà\, Anna Paola Della Chiesa\, Rachele Montis\, and Artistic Director Massimiliano Leoni will be in attendance. The company will be in NY to present the work at the Between the Seas Festival on July 22 and 24\, 2014.\nCRS previously hosted a production by ASMED Balletto di Sardegna in September of 2011\, and the work was considered to have been very beautiful and was very warmly received. We are delighted to be able to renew the relationship between our companies at this time.\nARAGOSTA carries on the company’s work of research around the great non-conformist Italian stylist of the thirties\, Elsa Schiaparelli\, begun last year. Elsa Schiaparelli still inspires lots of generations of contemporary artists not only in Italy but also at an international level. This time\, the reflection takes shape in a completely new piece enriched with surprising concepts and abstract expression codes. The new choreography stems from that unstoppable pulse to create and express oneself at all costs and despite everything; in spite of the imposed cultural roles\, the crushing social conventions and the timeless conflict between the natural and social being.\nIt has been spontaneous and almost irresistible to associate the stylish exuberance of Schiaparelli with the innovative expressive hardiness of Moreno Solinas\, the emerging choreographer who gives authorship to this new work. Sardinian by birth but Londoner by choice\, Solinas distinguishes himself both for his cosmopolitan attitude and North European sensitivity. His never-ending creativity and natural predisposition to catch new aspects and visual angles makes him the most brilliant artist to give an original interpretation of the Italian designer’s genius.  \nThe insatiable curiosity for everything concerning art and expression\, the ability to unveil all the details that the common look ignores\, the will to go further in space and time\, these are the key points of Schiaparelli’s thought and uniqueness. As a result the stage becomes a testing ground where dance develops a cognitive dialog with itself and the unconscious. Dance confronts itself with the revolutions it can create. The audience sees with astonishment the way bodies change shape and become\, in a surrealist perspective\, new creatures or even objects\, which seem to come out of a painting or the fading memory of a bizarre dream. The three female dancers’ bodies turn themselves into instruments that produce music. Sound arises from the beating of the hands or by the feet stepping on the ground\, but also by screams\, seductive voices murmuring\, shortness of breath and inarticulate phonemes. \nIn this light it is not that weird that dancers perform a fashion show wearing nothing but their own skin\, celebrating with shocking simplicity their identity. Solinas reproduces through symbolic images the way the Italian stylist represented her vision of life in her audacious creations\, overturning the schemes\, like a lobster painted on a silky white dress that claims to be elegant. The show invites the audience to freely express himself/herself\, even though it means to be unpredictable and\, why not\, a little bit crazy.\nThis work is supported by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Autonomous Region of Sardinia (ITALY).\nABOUT CHOREOGRAPHER MORENO SOLINAS\nMoreno Solinas was born in Sassari and trained as a dancer and choreographer at the London Contemporary Dance School. He is currently based in London where he works as a choreographer\, performer and director. In 2012 he founded the company ‘Igor and Moreno’ in partnership with Igor Urzelai. Their collaborations include their latest duet Idiot-Syncrasy (supported by Arts Council England\, The Place\, Yorkshire Dance\, Cambridge Junction\, CSC-Bassano del Grappa and BAD Festival in Bilbao)\, an installation performance for the Bloomberg SPACE and commissions by The Place and Dance Umbrella. Together they have presented their works in 12 European countries and also in the USA gaining awards and recognitions\, including the Rudolf Laban Award (2011)\, a special mention at Prix Jardin d’Europe (2010) and the top-20 Aerowaves (2011 & 2013).\nMoreno’s work is characterised by a strong will to employ a poetic yet political language to reclaim the role of the theatre as a place for assembly whilst exploring the cathartic properties of live performance. Through the use of the body\, voice\, text and design\, he creates finely crafted and playful dance works which are in equal parts exciting and uncompromising\, poetic and thought-provoking. \nMoreno is amongst the founding members of BLOOM! Dance Collective. In 2011 he was invited to join Work Place artists scheme as an associate choreographer and his work is supported by the leading dance house The Place (London).\nLearn more\nJuly 2014235 – 6 pm

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Haruko BlueStarChild —  8/22 – 8/24/14
DESCRIPTION:CRS welcomes Sedona-based Japanese artist HA-RU-KO BlueStarChild for a three-day exhibition August 22 – 24\, 2014 (10am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday\, 1 – 5 pm Sunday) with daily slide show presentation and talk by the artist from 2 – 3 pm. HA-RU-KO is a multi dimensional artist\, designer\, performer\, and author. In 1999 she started to receive inspirations from the Light Realm. She consciously merges with the Source (Creator) and Mother Earth and co-creates our ultimate dream to bring joy\, peace\, and harmony on the Earth through her artistic creations. \nDuring the daily talks\, she will describe how she started to receive inspiration from the Light Realm and show slides of many of her older artworks to show how her process and artwork evolved and also what she has been learning from them. So many messages come through from the drawings.\nLearn moreHaruko’s web site\nAugust 201415 – 17Daily talks 2 – 3 pm\nABOUT HA-RU-KO BLUESTARCHILD\nHer art introduces many other realms such as Ascended Masters\, ArchAngels & Angels\, Fairies\, Nature Elementals\, ETs\, and other Universes. Also her art depicts the future and possibility of the world we are to create. Her artwork seems to awaken deep soul memories in each individual. They remind us of the true essence of our beauty\, purity\, innocence and magnificence of who we truly are. She works closely with ArchAngels and Angels\, so her drawings bring healing into the hearts and souls of many people.\nHer drawings are done all by free-hand and her creations range from Free-Flow Sacred Geometry\, Ancient Divine codes\, Original Essence Portraits\, Angelic Healing Art\, Cosmic Maps and Scenery\, and Beings in other dimensions.\nwww.BlueStarChild.com\n \nARTIST STATEMENT\nIn 1999 I started to draw with the assistance of the full moon. It is hard to explain\, but the full moon created such a mood that I was all of a sudden inspired to draw rabbits. This continued to happen on many moons. Many rabbits kept on appearing on my sketchbook for many months.\nAccording to a Japanese folk tale\, rabbits live on the moon making rice cakes to bring us prosperity. Perhaps they came down from the moon to share their wisdom with me. They gently and slowly introduced me to a spirit world so that I would not be afraid. \nAfter years of drawing\, the rabbits began to appear less frequently and they transformed into a sacred-looking beings in disguise of rabbit-like forms.  Although they looked cute and innocent\, they embodied power and dignity.  Also the drawings became more structural and complex\, like what we call a Sacred Geometry but my drawings are in much more free form.  Moreover\, I started to be introduced to other dimensions\, such as Nature kingdom\, Angelic kingdom\, ET world\, Realm of Light and Masters\, and other Universes.\nThrough drawing\, I began to understand that our imagination is connected with the source of Creation (God if you may call)\, I didn’t even believe in God\, when I started to draw. I thought that angels and fairies and ETs are just a fantasy. Through my drawings\, I can experience and remember their world\, and I can feel their presence as real as seeing them. Through my drawings\, my soul memories started to be awakened\, and I can feel all those presence in my heart\, and they became more and more real to me\, and I have been learning a precious wisdom from the spirit world through my drawings.\nMy drawings are all done by free-hand and the sizes are as large as 8 feet tall or 10 feet in width.\nI would like to introduce the multi-dimensional worlds through my artwork and allow the audience to journey through each of them and receive the energies and activations within our soul to awaken our soul and to remember who truly are. They are gifts from our Creator which happened to flow through my hand\, and so my intention is to share to people as much as I can by traveling the world. \n \nLearn moreHaruko’s web site\nAugust 201422 – 24Daily talks 2 – 3 pm

SUMMARY:Film Screening: Fukushima\, Rokkasho and Message to the Future— 9/12/14
DESCRIPTION:Fukushima\, Rokkasho and Message to the Future | 2013\nKei Shimada — director\nin Japanese with English subtitles\, 105′\n \nCRS\, Think Act Change NYC\, Learn From 3.11\, Mar Creation\, and Todos Somos Japon (now called Sloths Against Nuclear State) invite you to the NYC premiere of the documentary “Fukushima\, Rokkasho and Message to the Future.” This film shows us how the shadowy alliance of the Japanese government and the nuclear power industry have managed to build nuclear installations all over rural Japan to benefit urban Japan and the US military\, despite strong opposition from the people living in those communities\, and it also shows us the many ways in which the everyday lives of the people in these communities have suffered\, sometimes tragically\, as a result and how they persevere. They tell their own stories\, in their own words\, in such a way that their humanity and our complicity in their suffering cannot be marginalized.\n \nFollowing each screening\, we will have a conversation via Skype with the director\, Kei Shimada and light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.\nThe film includes two songs\, “Are You Safe Now?” (composed six days after the earthquake) and “Nuchiyui\,” sung by the famous Japanese singer and environmentalist\, Tokiko Kato\, who has served in the past as an ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund and the United Nations Environment Program. See her TEDxTokyo talk about what it means to live with radiation.\n \nDirector Kei Shimada\, 53\, is an award-winning photographer who started covering nuclear issues when the 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine happened. In her fascination\, perhaps\, she found herself settling in remote Rokkasho village (pop. 11\,000) in the northern Aomori Prefecture\, where a large nuclear fuel cycle complex stands\, the first in Japan that can produce large amounts of weapons-grade plutonium annually\, enough to construct up to 2\,000 bombs. In 2011\, she was getting ready to shoot her first movie featuring Rokkasho\, its residents\, and how their lives are being affected by the nuclear plant. But\, as the Great East Japan Earthquake hit\, causing the tsunami that resulted in the nuclear meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi plant\, she was convinced that she needed to add Fukushima in her documentary\, now entitled “Fukushima\, Rokkasho and Message to the Future.”\nShimada says of her film\, “I hope I can show that we can’t coexist with nuclear power and it is the duty of each of us to make a choice about energy in the future.”\nSinger Tokiko Kato was born in Harbin in 1943. In 1965\, she won the Japan Amateur Chanson Competition and made her debut as a singer while she was an undergraduate at the University of Tokyo. Since then she has had many hit songs and has made more than 70 albums. In addition to dozens of concerts at home\, Ms. Kato’s  performances around the world have included Carnegie Hall in New York in 1988 and 1990. In 1992\, she received the prestigious Chevalier Medal for Culture from the Government of France for her artistic achievements and cultural activities. Her performances at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2006 and 2011 as well as at the ap bank fes. in 2007 and 2011 obtained great attention for their audience appeal across generations. Besides being active as a singer\, Ms. Kato took a turn as an actress in the film Izakaya Choji (1983). And in the animated film Porco Rosso (1992) by Hayao Miyazaki\, she displayed her charm as a voice actor.\nMs. Kato is an activist about global environmental issues. Following her appointment as World Wildlife Fund Councilor in 1997\, she was named Special Envoy for the United Nations Environment Programme in October 2000. She has traveled extensively throughout Asia and Oceania to spread the word about the actual state of the natural environment that she has personally witnessed\, as well as to foster human connections through her music. In April 2008\, Ms. Kato reported on her activities as UNEP Special Envoy and performed live at the UN General Assembly Hall in New York City (she resigned from her post of UNEP Special Envoy in March 2011). At home in Japan\, Ms. Kato continues her endeavors together with the younger generation toward realizing an eco-friendly society\, basing their operations at the “Kamogawa Nature Kingdom” farm in Kamogawa\, Chiba Prefecture.\n \nWatch trailer\n \nSept 20141211 am & 7 pm

SUMMARY:Occupation 101 film screening — 8/22/14
DESCRIPTION:OCCUPATION 101 (documentary)\, 2006\ndirected by Sufyan Omeish and Abdallah Omeish\nnarrated by Alison Weir\, founder of If Americans Knew\nUSA\, 90 minutes\, English\nShowtimes: Friday\, Aug 22\, 2014 at 7 pm\nTickets are $10.\nCRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) invites you to screen and discuss OCCUPATION 101\, a multi-award-winning documentary film about the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Unlike any other film ever produced on the conflict\, OCCUPATION 101 presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never ending controversy and dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions.\nThe film details life under Israeli military rule\, the role of the United States in the conflict\, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace. The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars\, peace activists\, journalists\, religious leaders and humanitarian workers\, many of them Jewish\, whose voices have too often been suppressed in American media outlets (see complete list below).\nCRS is not on one side or against anyone. Our Center exists to create events and experiences wherein we can together remember that we are all the same\, deserving of only love\, able to give and receive only love\, regardless of what our perceptions may show us. This is easier to do when we take time to really see and understand one another\, and it is essential to do so whenever we perceive conflict. We have decided to show this particular film not to tell anyone what to think but rather to facilitate conversation and understanding and promote unity and peace. Many Jewish\, Israeli\, Palestinian and American-based Middle East scholars\, peace activists\, journalists\, religious leaders and humanitarian workers share first-hand on-the-ground experiences and explanations about the roots of the conflict so it is our hope that this film can be a reasonable starting point for further study and conversation. Please feel comfortable and welcome to offer constructive criticism and share any concerns you may have during the Q&A following the screening. We will do our best to establish an environment of openness\, inclusiveness\, respect and love.\nTopics covered include the first wave of Jewish immigration from Europe in the 1880’s\, the 1920 tensions\, the 1948 war\, the 1967 war\, the first Intifada of 1987\, the Oslo Peace Process\, Settlement expansion\, the role of the United States Government\, the second Intifada of 2000\, the separation barrier and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza\, as well as many heart wrenching testimonials from victims of this tragedy.\nWatch the trailer:\n  \n \nOccupation 101 features a leading list of some of the most credible Middle East scholars\, historians\, peace activists\, journalists\, and humanitarian workers: \nDr. Albert Aghazarian. SUMMARY:Inner Vision Workout Using Principles of A Course in Miracles — Fall 2014
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on the principles of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) and lessons from the ACIM Workbook & other resources\, we’ll practice meditation & creative visualization to develop our intuitive abilities and experientially explore some tasty questions! \nWhat prevents us from being happy now?\nIs there a better way to see ourselves and the world?\nWhat is an Inner Teacher & how can we tune in?\nWhat do we really want to do? \nDiscussion of these experiences and how to apply them to situations that come up in our lives is welcome\, but we will aim to spend the majority of the time experiencing rather than trying to use our logical minds to understand and solve problems.\nStudents of the Course will appreciate this class as a lab for developing our ability to dialog with the Holy Spirit (the Course’s name for the inner voice or teacher who also speaks from the point of view of the thought system that recognizes that only love exists). That said\, familiarity with the Course is not required. Believing in “God” or familiarity with the concept of an “inner voice” is not even required. All that is required is a sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore and play.\nInstructor Christopher Pelham is the Director and a co-founder of CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing). He balances his time between overseeing the growth and health of the CRS community\, producing arts/cultural/educational events at the Center\, and working as a CRS Healer and student and teacher of A Course in Miracles. He has previously also worked in educational publishing and as a web designer\, writer/editor\, actor (most notably for several seasons with Doris Duke Impact Award Winner Johnny Simons at the Hip Pocket Theatre in Ft. Worth\, TX and with artists Richard Bach\, Harold Lehmann\, and Lake Simons in NYC)\, producer and videographer. He graduated from Duke University in 1991 with a degree in English. In addition to studying ACIM off and on with Yasuko Kasaki since 2003\, he studied the Spiritual Psychology of Acting with London-based teacher John Osborne Hughes and Jay Johnstone-based Improvisation with the late Gloria Maddox.\n \nRead more\nSept 25 – Nov 13\, 2014Thursdays8 – 9:30 pm

SUMMARY:Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM) Workshop — Fall 2014
DESCRIPTION:CRS is delighted to welcome back movement teacher Sita Mani to teach Feldenkrais at CRS this fall. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons teach you how to reduce unnecessary muscular effort and improve awareness of the whole self in action. The teacher uses a combination of pleasant\, purposeful movement and guided attention to lead you through a particular pattern of movement and action. Emphasis on sensory learning results in movement that is more flexible\, pleasurable\, efficient and free from aches and pains.\nThe workshop will run Thursdays 6:45 – 8 pm from Sept 25 – Dec 4\, 2014 skipping Nov 30 (Thanksgiving).\nThe course is $200 for all ten meetings ($175 if registering by Sept 10). Drop-ins are also welcome; single classes are $25.\nSITA MANI was born in Germany to Indian parents and grew up in Thailand\, Switzerland\, and India. She began her movement training early\, studying Yoga and Tae Kwon Do at age 8 Bangkok.  \nSita began her study of western dance and classical ballet in Bombay and started her professional career on stage at the age of fourteen. She worked professionally as a Principal Dancer  and Choreographer’s Assistant in The Shiamak Davar Dance Company in India for a few years\,primarily doing Musical Theatre\, Music Videos and Teaching Dance.\nHer interests gravitated towards modern dance\, which lead to her work with artists from outside India such as Uttara Coorlawalla and Compagnie Choreographique De Renne. In 1990\, Sita moved to New York City. She completed the Certificate Program at the Alvin Ailey School and spent ten years working with Dance and Physical Theater companies in New York\, as well as with independent choreographers from India\, Europe\, South America\, and the United States. She studied Acting at The Michael Howard Studio in New York and took up long term studies in new movement modalities\, including Iyengar Yoga in India; Lucid Body and The Alexander Technique. Sita is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Her unique\, eclectic background has lead her to develop her own form of movement training which works towards  giving performers a more refined self awareness\,physical awareness and emotional authenticity.  Sita has worked at all levels of training\, ranging from the Yale School of Drama to kindergartens in the slums of Mumbai.\nSita is a recent graduate of the Actor’s Center Teacher Development Program and is currently on faculty at The Studio New York\, Herbert Berghof Studio and a Guest Teacher at The Scott Freeman Studio in NY.\n \nRead more\nSept – Dec 2014 Thursdays

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Atonement – Aganai — Ceramic Sculpture by Miyu Asakawa
DESCRIPTION:CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) is delighted to announce ATONEMENT – AGANAI\, an exhibition of ragu-fired stoneware by artist Miyu Asakawa. The ceramic masks and heads in this exhibition are inspired by actual events in the artist’s life. Each mask represents a feeling Miyu had at a particular moment in time\, phases in her life\, or in a relationship. All of the masks were cast of her own face or that of friends or family.\nAsakawa has been studying A Course in Miracles and was also inspired in her recent work by the Course’s re-conception of atonement as meaning to be “healed” by re-connecting with one’s inner truth (realizing that sin always was and is impossible and that we are always already perfect\, as God created us.) So\, even though these masks express the ego’s vulnerability and the scars of drama/trauma\, she wants to use this process of psychic excavation to reach something changeless below the surface\, to recover her own sense of strength and grace.\nAn Opening Reception with the artist will be held on Saturday\, September 13\, 2014 from 5 – 7 pm. Following the reception\, please join us for a screening of the lyrical and profound Dutch-Japanese documentary film “Water Children.”\nMiyu Asakawa was born in Fukuoka\, Japan and moved to New York in 1998. She has been working in ceramics for the last seven years. Most of the pieces in this exhibit are made in the Raku method\, which is a particular method of glazing and firing clay. In Raku\, the glaze of every piece comes out completely different\, even if it started out identical on two separate pieces. She has previously had exhibitions in NY at Art on A in Manhattan and at Roux Roux in Brooklyn.\n \nRead more\nOpening Sept 201413 5 – 7 pm

SUMMARY:Int'l Day of the Girl Screening & Talk by Miki Agrawal — 10/11
DESCRIPTION:IT’S A GIRL\nEvan Grae Davis\, Director\, 2012  \nUSA | 64′ (English)\nOn Saturday\, October 11\, 2014 at 5:30 pm\, CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) and Think Act Change NYC invite you to screen and discuss IT’S A GIRL\, a documentary film about the battle to end gendercide. \nWe’re super excited to confirm that the wonderfully awesome serial social entrepreneur Miki Agrawal (best-selling author of Do Cool Sh*t\, WILD pizza restaurateur\, recipient of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival’s “Disruptive Innovation Award” and named 2013’s Forbes’ “Top 20 Millienials On a Mission”) will be joining us to discuss the film and her current project THINX\, an underwear solution for “that time of the month” with proceeds from sale providing seven reusable cloth pads to get millions of girls back in school. And she’ll be bringing FREE PIZZA from Wild! And Sydney-based Think Act Change founder Avis Mulhall will be hosting\, and Molly Hayward\, founder of Cora (provides organic feminine hygience products by subscription and by donation to women in need all over the world) will be joining the panel discussion!\nThe United Nations estimates that as many as 200 million girls  are missing in the world today because they have been killed\, aborted or abandoned simply because they are girls. Will gender equality ever become a reality? What is stopping us from tackling this universal problem together and advancing women’s human rights today? This will be a great opportunity for you to share your thoughts on the latest Emma Watson HeforShe speech and on what you think the media and organizations could be doing collectively in our community to further gender equality because at the end of the day it’s not his or her problem\, it’s our problem.\nEarly bird tickets are $11 online. Seating is limited and first come\, first serve. Tickets are $15 at the door.\nABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY\nGirls who survive infancy are often subject to neglect\, and many grow up to face extreme violence and even death at the hands of their own husbands or other family members. The war against girls is rooted in centuries-old tradition and sustained by deeply ingrained cultural dynamics which\, in combination with government policies\, accelerate the elimination of girls.\nThe film tells the stories of abandoned and trafficked girls\, of women who suffer extreme dowry-related violence\, of brave mothers fighting to save their daughters’ lives\, and of other mothers who would kill for a son. Global experts and grassroots activists put the stories in context and advocate different paths towards change\, while collectively lamenting the lack of any truly effective action against this injustice.\nABOUT SPEAKER MIKI AGRAWAL\nMiki Agrawal is a serial social entrepreneur. She was a recipient of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival’s “Disruptive Innovation Award” and named 2013’s Forbes’ “Top 20 Millienials On a Mission.” She is the founder of the acclaimed farm-to-table\, alternative pizza concept called WILD (www.eatdrinkwild.com) in NYC. She has since partnered with Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh to open the concept in Downtown Las Vegas.\nHer next undertaking is THINX (www.shethinx.com)\, a high-tech\, beautiful underwear solution for women during their “time of the month.” She and her partners teamed up with AFRIpads in Uganda to fund seven reusable cloth pads for every pair of underwear sold to get millions of girls back in school.\n  \n \nMiki is also a partner in Super Sprowtz\, a children’s media company working to get kids to eat more vegetables (www.supersprowtz.com).\nMost recently\, Harper Collins published her book entitled “DO COOL SH*T” (www.docoolshit.org) on entrepreneurship and lifestyle design. The book launched on August 6th\, 2013 and in 3 days\, it hit #1 on Amazon Bestsellers list in entrepreneurship.\nMiki is an identical twin\, half-Japanese\, half-Indian French Canadian\, former professional soccer player and graduate of Cornell University.\nhttp://www.mikiagrawal.com\nIt’s a Girl web siteWatch trailer\nOctober 201411 5:30 pm

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Photography by Brad Oliphant – Opening 11/8
DESCRIPTION:CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) is thrilled to announce an exhibition of photographs by Brad Oliphant. The exhibition will take place in conjunction with the publication of Lessons in Love from A Course in Miracles: Truths and Meditations on the Legendary Text (photos and text by Brad Oliphant\, foreward by Gary R. Renard).\nAn Opening Reception\, talk/slide presentation by the artist\, and book signing will take place on Saturday\, November 8\, 2014 from 5 – 7 pm. Author and A Course in Miracles teacher Jon Mundy\, Ph.D. will also be on hand to introduce Brad’s work and sign copies of his own books! The exhibition will continue into early January 2015.\nPlease RSVP @  bradgoliphant@gmail.com\nIf you are unable to attend the event but would like to purchase one or more signed copies of Lessons in Love\, please contact Brad @ 917-664-4917.\n \nFor more than 40 years\, award-winning fine arts photographer Brad Oliphant has been capturing unbelievable images of the natural world. He’s also a dedicated student/teacher of A Course in Miracles\, the thousand-page treatise on spiritual enlightenment said to have been channeled directly from Christ. Now\, in this beautifully illustrated gift book\, Brad combines his two passions: the insights he has received from a higher power and his lovely\, surreal photographs. The effect of his images is haunting\, yet empowering: he seems to break through the veil of everyday appearances to reach something deeper and richer\, seemingly accessible only to a chosen few. In addition to the stunning visuals\, Lessons in Love from A Course in Miracles contains inspirational quotes\, Brad’s reflections\, and a section on addiction and recovery that includes Brad’s personal experiences. Filled with wisdom on love\, freedom from ego\, and happiness\, this is a keepsake for any student of the Course—and anyone wishing to find a new level of awareness.\nBrad Oliphant stands at the frontline of Fine Arts Photography. Highly awarded\, and hosting a smorgasbord of collections\, ranging from florals to landscapes; angelic works to macro. It was his parents gift of a Canon film camera back in 1973 that set Brad’s path in motion. Brad has over 40 years of photography experience\, which includes the fields of fashion\, commercial and nature photography. Having walked away from a 12 year fashion run some time ago\, he left with countless credits and publications which included Marie Claire\, Dolce & Gabbana\, Ink\, Flick\, La Estetica\, and Zink. His love for the trade diminished and left him questioning where to go next. Brad turned to nature and fast became aware that he had found his true love. His passion for shooting nature and fine arts have become his chosen path. Born in Dallas\, Texas\, Brad obtained his BFA from the University of North Texas; majoring in photography and with a minor in botany. Little did He know at the time that soon he would be combining the two. Shortly there after\, Brad escaped to New York City to find his place amongst the leaders in his trade and where he still happily resides. Brad’s sole objective is to help inspire others with the grace and essence of spirit that lives and breathes in nature.\n \n \nBrad’s web site\nOpening Nov 20148 5 – 7 pm

SUMMARY:AdHoc Winter Concert — 12/7
DESCRIPTION:AdHoc Winter Concert\nDate: Time December 7th\, 2014 from 7 pm\nLocation: CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) \n               123 4th Ave (between 12th & 13th St) 2nd Floor\, New York\, NY10003\nMore info: hello@adhoc-ny.com\nTickets (RSVP): http://adhoc-winter2014.brownpapertickets.com\nWebsite: http://adhoc-ny.com\n \nWHO WE ARE\n \nAdHoc is a vibrant\, growing ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists based in New York City.  We’re inspired primarily by early music\, but we also believe that tradition can be played with.  We perform about half of our pieces off the score\, as the composer intended. The rest is experimental–our “ad hoc” repertoire.  Always looking for fresh ways to fuse new and old\, we might explore how an oratorio would sound when reduced to a solo voice and guitar\, or how an Italian aria could be reworked in a jazz setting.  The composition of our ensemble is just as dynamic as our sound.  While our foundation is a core group of dedicated residents\, we’re constantly seeking other NYC musicians to collaborate with us as guests on individual projects.  The result: a mashup of genres\, sounds\, and influences as fluid and eclectic as the city where we live and perform. \n \nWHAT WE DO\n \nAn AdHoc concert is a relaxed\, intimate gathering that brings people together to share food\, drink\, conversation\, and music.  It’s a “salon” without the stuffiness.  Our events are all about community–the floor is our stage\, with little space between performer and audience. On December 7th\, we’re thrilled to be hosting our first holiday soiree.  We’ll provide the delicious treats\, warming beverages\, and a musical intermission of festive tunes\, from madrigals and traditional carols to flamenco and jazz.  You bring your friends\, appetite\, and open ears.\n \nDecember 201477 pm

SUMMARY:Inner Vision Workout Using Principles of A Course in Miracles — Winter 2015
DESCRIPTION:We’ll meditate and practice asking for and receiving guidance from our inner teacher and we’ll practice spiritual reading of one another. If you’ve yet to attend\, it’s still perfectly perfect to show up! 🙂\nThink of this as a gym — or better yet a playground — for the spirit! We’ll use guided meditation\, creative visualization and improv games to practice being present\, to access our limitless imaginations and intuitive abilities\, and to align our thoughts and actions with the voice of unconditional love. After each exercise we’ll take time to discuss the experience and discover what we can learn and how it might apply to situations in daily life.\nPhilosophically\, we’ll be drawing on principles of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) as well as the teachings of Shakti Gawain\, Eckhart Tolle\, Barry Neil Kaufman\, Keith Johnstone\, and others. Familiarity with the Course or experience with meditation or improvisation is not required. All that is required is a sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore and play!\nStudents of the Course will appreciate this class as a lab for developing our ability to dialog with the Holy Spirit (the Course’s name for the inner voice or teacher who also speaks from the point of view of the thought system that recognizes that only love exists). In addition to studying ACIM off and on with Yasuko Kasaki since 2003\, he studied the Spiritual Psychology of Acting with London-based teacher John Osborne Hughes and Jay Johnstone-based Improvisation with the late Gloria Maddox.\n \nRead more\nJan 8 – April 9\, 2015Thursdays7 – 8:30 pm

SUMMARY:Spirituality & Social Change Meetup: IT'S EVERYBODY'S OCEAN film screening — 1/24/15
DESCRIPTION:IT’S EVERYBODY’S OCEAN (documentary)\, 2014\ndirected by Atsuko Quirk\nUSA/Japan\, 40′\, Japanese subtitles over English & English subtitles or Japanese dialog\nShowtime: Saturday\, Jan 24\, 2015 at 6 pm\nSOLD OUT!\nPlease join us for a reception & community screening of the new documentary “It’s Everybody’s Ocean” (40′) about the consequences of out-of-control consumption and one island community’s efforts to stay afloat amongst the mounting garbage. Director Astuko Quirk will be on hand to lead a Q&A and announce her next project\, documenting the re-forestatation of Tohoku. A suggested donation of $10 will support the film.\n \nIt’s everybody’s ocean\,\nit’s everybody’s problem.\nThis documentary tells a story of how marine debris is affecting the people of Ikema\, a tiny and beautiful island of the Miyako Islands\, known for its stunning coral reefs. The island’s once pristine beaches now play host to tons of plastic marine debris\, originating from all over Asia\, polluting their beaches\, and threatening the lives of marine species. This is the story of a small island struggle with plastic pollution. \nThe people of Ikema are committed to keeping the beaches clean and free from marine debris. They do this to prevent trash from going back into the ocean after storms\, and to preserve tourism. But most importantly\, they do this because of their spiritual commitment to the island. People on Ikema have been praying to nature gods for over 500 years. They still have a deep respect for the ocean as one of their nature gods. \n“It’s Everybody’s Ocean” won the best documentary short at NYC International Film Festival in 2014 and two awards at other festivals. It has been shown in 10 cities all over the world.\nWatch the trailer:\n  \nIt’s Everybody’s Ocean – Trailer みんなの海だから 予告編 from Atsuko Quirk on Vimeo. \n \nLearn moreWatch trailerAtsuko Quirk’s web site\n \nJanuary 201524 6 pm
