SUMMARY:Deep Tissue Healing: Myofascial Release\, Asana & Breath — CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:with Crystal McCreary & Adriana Adele \nTHIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.  \nThis month we will dive into a practice that combines yoga asana\, breath work\, and self-massage using tennis balls to create a deeper connection with our physical and emotional bodies. Through self-directed massage work we will move through techniques that: release tension that is stored in our bodies and tissues due to daily and chronic stressors; increase body awareness and specifically drive our consciousness to parts of the body that are often over utilized\, overlooked\, and hard to access; improve mobility so that we can move through our days with greater ease; tap into the agency of the self and our innate ability to heal and care for ourselves. Stimulating pressure receptors in the muscle tissue\, which can be done through self massage work\, increases vagal activity in the brain which stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system\, our rest and digest nervous system\, the side of our nervous system that is linked to the relaxation response and promotes our bodies’ natural ability to restore\, heal\, and thrive. \nCome dressed to move and bring a journal. \nThis workshop is for the woman who refuses to brave these socially\, racially\, politically\, and economically trying times alone. It is for the woman who desires an overhaul and transformation of her relationship to wellbeing\, as it relates to the myriad of stressors that overcome us\, as both individuals and within the context of being in community. These workshops will explore a definition of self-care that does not require putting off your wellbeing until a holiday break\, nor does it require a membership at an expensive yoga studio. Together we will begin an inquiry into perceiving ourselves and our communities as resources to tap for resilience and wellbeing moment by moment and day by day. You will gain lasting practical tools to make self-care an integrated and powerful support for your life. Through yoga\, mindfulness\, journaling\, creative play\, partner work\, and group discussion\, the creation of a powerful and delightful sister circle\, and occasional guest facilitators\, you will unearth answers to these questions and more: \nHow does my breath support my physiological wellbeing? \nWhat forms of movement\, exercise and nourishment does my body need to feel balanced and healthy so that I can feel at home in my own skin? \nHow do I find time to slow down\, restore myself and avoid burnout? \nHow can I transform my busy mind into an ally? \nHow do I get better at aligning my intentions with actionable steps and the realization of my dream of a life I love? \nHow do I create emotional\, physical and mental balance so that I can sustain the demands of my partner\, my family\, my profession\, and the social and emotional challenges of the times AND maintain my wellbeing? \nHow do I create community around my self-care efforts so that I am supported by those with like intentions on an ongoing basis? \nWhat brings me joy and how do I infuse play back into my life? \nNOTE: All workshops in this monthly series are appropriate for participants of ALL levels of yoga and mindfulness experience.

SUMMARY:What’s Your Story? Using Yoga and Mindfulness to Explore and Transform the Thoughts\, Words & Actions that Run Our Lives
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for the woman who refuses to brave these socially\, racially\, politically\, and economically trying times alone. Through yoga\, mindfulness\, journaling\, creative play\, partner work\, and group discussion\, the creation of a powerful and delightful sister circle\, and occasional guest facilitators\, you will unearth answers to these questions and more: \nWhat we think and feel on the inside has an enormous impact on how we act in our relationships and in the world\, and these thoughts and words frame our entire experience of living and being. This workshop will use yoga and mindfulness as tools to explore the narratives that run our lives. Are the stories you tell yourself the kind that build you up\, or stories that break you down? Through asana\, breath and attention to sensation and emotion\, we will begin to source where these habitual patterns of our mind come from\, especially when things get challenging. You’ll explore how to chuck narratives that don’t serve you\, and create new narratives that empower\, inspire and reflect who you say you are and who you are meant to be. \nCome dressed to move and bring a journal. \nInvestment: \nEarly bird rate by May 12: $35\nAfter May 12: $45 \nAll registration fees are non-refundable. \nFor more details\, please email cmccrearyyoga@gmail.com\, or register today because space is limited!

SUMMARY:Monthly Workshop Series: Saturdays\, Self-Care & Sisterhood
DESCRIPTION:“More women cry\, loudly or silently\, every fraction of every moment\, in every town of every country\, than anyone–man or woman–realizes. We cry for our children\, our lovers\, our parents\, and ourselves.\nWe cry in shame because we feel no right to cry\, and we cry in peace because we feel it’s time we did cry. We cry for the world. Yet we think we cry alone. \nWe feel that no one hears\, that there is no listening that matters. And we must all listen now.” \n– Marianne Williamson \nThis monthly workshop series is for the woman who refuses to brave these socially\, racially\, politically\, and economically trying times alone.
