The {W} Workshop is a writing workshop for highly creative people who feel called to dig deeply into a discovery process. In class, we will practice deep listening skills and call on practical and spiritual tools to geared toward creating clarity and confidence creative writing. You need not come to class with a particular project in mind; perhaps you just have an idea or an inkling of an idea you’d like to explore. You will come away with tools to help you through blocks, “stuck” moments that may arise, and most importantly move your work in the world forward.

About the Teacher
Jillian Walker is a writer, singer, dramaturg and interdisciplinary performer. Her full-length play, Live on Top of Tables, received a warm welcome at Columbia University and is now in development for a workshop production. She is currently writing her first musical about 1700s New Orleans.
She has been a singer and actress for over a decade, appearing at such places as The Shrine World Music Venue, The Flea Theater, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the Detroit Institute of Art.
Her self-written album Searching For Home (The Urban Gypsy EP), is available on Spotify, iheartRadio, iTunes, Amazon and other outlets. To date, copies have been purchased all over the United States, Australia, Japan & The UK.
In addition to her work as a singer/songwriter and actress, Jillian is hugely passionate about empowering herself and others through teaching and speaking. She most recently appeared as a featured panelist at the New England Literature Program’s 40th anniversary conference at The University of Michigan.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Afro-American and African Studies from The University of Michigan, a certificate in Acting from The Studio / New York Conservatory and is a current MFA candidate at Columbia University.
