CRS is delighted to welcome back our neighbor Peridance this fall, as we will host their Pre-Professional Ballet for Boys 8 – 12 program and several other children classes this year. The School at Peridance with its renowned PeriChild Program was established in 1983 and has been recognized as a pioneer in dance eucation within the New York Dance Community. Offering classes and training for students ranging from 18 months to 18 years, The School at Peridance features a progressive interdisciplinary approach to dance training, emphasizing a thorough understanding of various dance techniques, while promoting self-expression and creativity.

Young Movers Program
Offering dance classes for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. These young students are carefully guided through basic exploration of motor skills, musicality and rhythms in a fun and creative environment.
PeriChild Program
Offering dance classes for children ages 6 to 12 years old. As students grow and mature, discipline and basic vocabulary of various techniques are introduced through positive and nurturing teaching methods. The program’s structure allows students, according to their age and level, to choose their favorite style of dance.
PeriTeen Program
Offering extensive dance classes for students ages 13 to 17 years old, in an array of disciplines including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop, Tap, African and Salsa. The program’s structure allows students, according to their age and level, to determine the frequency and diversity of their after-school training. Classes are offered in various levels, from beginner to advance.
Pre-Professional Training Program
For students ages 7.5 to 16 years old who have a desire to train at an accelerated pace and focus on proper Ballet technique, strength, flexibility and body alignment. Additional attention is given to musicality, movement quality and anatomically correct work. Core students are also encouraged to take additional technique classes in Modern and Jazz, preparing them to join the Peridance Youth Ensemble, a pre-professional dance company.
Acceptance into the Pre-Professional Training Program is by audition only.
Peridance Youth Ensemble
A pre-professional training program for dancers ages 15 to 17 years old and a not-for-profit outreach youth dance company. In addition to the extensive, well-rounded curriculum of classes, Ensemble dancers have the opportunity to work closely with renowned choreographers and to participate in performances in New York City! Peridance Youth Ensemble has positively influenced hundreds of children from various organizations by extending their knowledge and love for dance through performances and interactive workshops, inspiring participants and enhancing their sense of community. The ensemble has worked with organizations include the University Settlement, Services at the Beacon and Turn 2 Foundation.
