Want a compassionate mind from a Buddhist’s perspective? I Love You Institute invited Zen Master Souken Danjo to talk about living a mindful compassionate life which is important for our own inner peace.

Mindfulness and compassion.” This is the wisdom Zen Master Souken Danjo seeks to impart in his talk/ meditation to clear the mind is considered spiritual practices in Buddhism, a reflection of our respect for and interdependence with the world around us. At this talk, Danjo San explains how we can simply open our hearts and minds to a contemplative life leading us down the path to inner peace.’

Zen Master Souken Danjo is a Buddhist Monk/ Priest/ Musician Composer and the Abbot of Saikouji mountain TempleHiroshima, which was founded in 1456.Danjo san was born in 1956, and graduated from Ryukoku University in economics. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk in Rinzei ZenDanjo san initiated new projects such as the annual OMURASAKI butterfly music and dance festival and workshops to live with nature in food clothes and more all over Japan. In 2009 Danjo san and 19 of his friends were invited to Holland during the celebration of 400 years relationship Japan / Hollandto give meditations workshops, exhibitions and performances: In 2009, 2017and 2018, Danjo -san brought workshops to Het Leidse Wevershuis Museum– Noh/Butoh in the Japan Museum SieboldHuis. He also honored Holland by planting the seeds from Hiroshima’s Peace Treeat the Leiden Hortus Botanicus.   Danjo san has worked together with many spiritual leaders and artists in the interfaith councilto open the doors of compatibility and friendship.

This year Souken Danjo travels to New York from Japan with Keiku Sahashi, Abbot of Tsushoin Pure Land Buddhist Temple in Kobe/ Tea Master/Kendo Master/Noh performer, Shingo Tokihiro, (Composition, Production and Costume) based in Tokyo and a myriad of musicians and dancers from all over Japan and Holland to share the beauty of Eastern culture in Performances of THE SEEDS OF BEAUTY New York edition.
