Understanding Dreams – Five Basic Features of a Dream
with Machiel Klerk

In this lecture you will learn about ve characteristics of dreams. is will help you understand the reality of your dreams, and consequently give you suggestions on how to work with them. One of these features is: what makes up a dream; namely the metaphorical, symbolic, non symbolic, and Other. You will learn how the world of dream is always present and how to create a ritual to build and nurture a relationship with dreaming. ese techniques and insights are based in Jungian psychology, lucid dreaming and many indigenous dream traditions from around the world.

Michael will also be giving a Saturday Morning Workshop on Nov 18, 2017 from 9:15 – 11:15 am at CRS. In this two-hour workshop you will deepen your knowledge and experience of dreams. You will learn a technique on how to work with dreams that you can apply to your own. This workshop will be a combination of both theory as well as practically working with the dreams of the course participants. This will be fun, soulful and practical.

About the Speaker

Machiel Klerk is a licensed mental health therapist, dream worker, international speaker, gifted diviner and social entrepreneur. He followed a course at the Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and has a Master’s degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California USA. He has finished an additional three year training in Embodied Imagination (dreamwork) by Robert Bosnak. Machiel has published articles on depth psychology and released a CD on dreams. He was mentioned one of the 100 most influential cultural figures in Utah. He gives workshops and lectures in Europe, North America and Africa. Machiel is also the founding president of the Jung Society of Utah and of the premier online educational depth psychology organization Jung Platform.
