An event every week that begins at 3:15 pm on Friday, repeating until December 2, 2016
Spiritual dis-ease is not a concept, nor is it a medical condition; it is not fundamentally cognitive or behavioral, though it rules both our thinking and our behavior. Spiritual dis-ease is not something wrong with us. It wants to be an enhancement of our possibilities for being, to give us new perspectives on who we are, who we can be and how we work.
*There is a suggested $20 contribution per seminar. Consistent attendance and participation is strongly encouraged.
Note: no class on Sept 30
Jim Roi is a philosopher and a healer specializing in the treatment of spiritual dis-ease. His stand that addiction provides a guiding metaphor for our time, and that this is good news, gives a unique and compelling focus to his work. His gift is to share the universal healing process in a way that is profound, and effective. His vision of spiritual recovery is compassionate, exciting and contagious.
Jim has been a visible figure in the New York city self help, transformation and recovery community since the early nineteen eighties when he was a popular seminar leader with EST: An Educational Organization.
Since entering his own recovery from addiction in 1985 Jim has used his background of philosophy and transformation to articulate and share an enriched version of what the twelve-step approach can make possible. He is unique in his application of post-modern philosophy and deconstructive theory to the realm of addiction. He is well known for successfully applying the twelve-step model to financial issues, especially compulsive under-earning.
