Goodbye Corporate Life, Hello Micro-financing! How $25 CAN make a difference — 10/5

January 14, 2016 @ 1:39 pm EST

When you live in New York, $25 buys you an unlimited mimosa weekend brunch but in Africa or India a loan of this amount could mean saving someone’s life and providing hope.
Please join Think Act Change NYC on Saturday, Oct 5 2013 from 4 – 5:30 pm to learn first hand from Eileen Flannigan how a $25 loan can really make a tangible impact now with the launch of Kiva Zip. Kiva Zip is a program launched by Kiva, that enables you to make direct loans to entrepreneurs in Kenya and the United States. You can make a loan today for as little as $25. Over time, as your loan is repaid, you get your money back, and you can then withdraw it, or re-lend it to another entrepreneur.
Eileen has just finished serving as a Kiva Zip Fellow in Nairobi, Kenya. Before heading back to Africa again, Eileen will share with us her story about what inspired her career change and how she successfully made the transition from corporate life to launching the first Kiva Fellow Program in Manipur, India.
Eileen brings 18 years experience in digital marketing and strategic business initiatives, which she is now leveraging as she transitions into International Development and Social Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about approaching poverty alleviation and other global issues from a business solutions perspective and un-tapping the potential of women to be entrepreneurs and powerful social leaders in these causes.
If you would like to get involved but can’t attend this time, let us know!
