October 15, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm UTC+0| $15
Organized by: Akiko Nishijima
Omoiyari Yosan (“Sympathy Budget”) is a popular Japanese term for funds provided by Japan as host nation support for the U.S. forces stationed in Japan. Although the Omoiyari budget is not mandated under the U.S.-Japan Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), the Japanese government has been paying more than $60 billion out of its taxpayers’ money since 1978, $150,000 a soldier per year. Most of the funds are paid in order to support the luxurious life of U.S. military personnel in Japan. This comical movie was made by an American who has resided in Japan for more than 20 years, simply to explore, IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?
