This week we launched a new meetup group for our FILM+VIDEO SHOW & TELL program in order to reach out to local filmmakers and film lovers. As with our MUSIC SHOW & TELL series, we envision that our film programs will showcase emerging and interesting artists as well as provide a forum wherein artists and their supporters can interact with and learn from one another. Each program is progressing organically in its own way but sometimes they cross paths.

For instance, today, we’d like to share a new music video by Japanese pop band Robin’s Egg Blue, which will performing at CRS on Saturday, Oct 1, 2011 at 8 pm, along with keyboard-based singer-songwriter Takako Hatanka. The video was directed, shot and edited by filmmaker and photographer Mayumi Suzuki, another talented artist from Japan who has come to NYC to broaden her horizens and who last year graduated from SVA. The video gives you a taste of the dreamy quality that is present in many of the visual works of Suzuki as well as in the musical compositions of the Robin’s Egg Blue songwriting tandem Atsumi Ishibashi (singer) and Masashi Ishiura (guitarist).
