CRS has presented numerous live performances by renowned artists form all over the world including BESSIE-winning dance artists Yoshiko Chuma and Jennifer Nugent, theatre artists such as Obie winner Karen Kandel, Jim Henson Foundation Grantee Lake Simons, seven-time Bay Area Theater Critics’ Circle Award winner Nina Wise, and Action Theater founder Ruth Zaporah, and music legends such as Morio Agata (top 10 hit “Red Colored Elegy”), Senri Oe (Best Male Pop Artist in Japan 1988), and multi-instrumentalist and former US jazz ambassador Scott Robinson of the multiple Grammy-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra.
Performances for up to 60 people may be held in the 2nd FL Studio and for up to 30 people in the 3rd FL White Room.
The Studio is equipped with theatrical lighting, a sound mixing board and PA, ceiling-mounted video projector and screen, and optional marley dance floor. The 2nd FL Therapy Room can be used as a dressing room and the 2nd FL Healing Room as waiting room for audience members prior to performances, as a coat check or for serving refreshments.
The White Room is equipped with an audio speaker (with 1/8″ audio input, blutooth, wifi connections) and is suitable for intimate acoustic music performances, readings, and multimedia presentations. A PreSonus StudioLive AR 8 mixer and microphones can be brought in as needed. The 3rd FL Therapy Room can be used as a dressing room.
